Instructions for the Fuel Sketch web app – the same texts as under «Instructions» in the app.
Drawing a route
- Draw: put your finger in the green ring and drag. Outside the ring one finger moves the map, two fingers zoom.
- Long-press in the ring or anywhere outside: the route starts exactly there (ring flashes, small menu «Start with normal speed» or «Start with slow phase»). Drag on to draw.
- Continue: touch the dashed ring at the end of the route. Outside it the route end moves the map.
- Tap a stop marker to change or remove it. Ending a stroke near the start or a stop closes the route.
Stops, waypoints and changes
- While drawing, stop for a moment: a menu opens with ground time, slow phase and end of route. Or long-press anywhere on the map: the same menu plus «Waypoint» draws a straight line from the route end to that point. Near an airfield the point snaps onto it.
- Corner points: zoomed in, the corners of the route appear as small dots. Tap one: «DCT» = straight line from the previous waypoint/stop to here, «GT» = ground time there (the corner becomes a stop), «Delete» = remove the corner. «Waypoint» in the stop menu keeps the drawn curve.
- Change the route in the middle: long-press on the line → Waypoint, ground time or «Redraw from here» (also when tapping a corner point). The rest of the route turns grey and dashed; draw on from the ring at the new end. Finish on the grey line and the rest is joined again (a detour); choose «End» elsewhere and it is dropped. Undo restores everything.
Map, search and toolbar
- Short tap on the map: bubble with name or coordinates, centre button, «DCT here» (straight line from the route end – without a route from the home base) and «Mark» (turquoise marker, as many as you like). Tap a marker: distance, time and fuel from the route end, DCT or remove. With no marker in view a small turquoise arrow points to the nearest one; «Show all» (top left) fits route and markers. Route and markers are still there when you open the app again.
- Search (magnifier, top left): find an airfield by ICAO code or name. With a route, the map shows the route end and the result together.
- Layers: in the layer menu you choose the base map and switch layers on/off. «Import KML/KMZ» adds your own points and lines (e.g. landing sites from Google Earth) – stored only on this device; manage them in Settings → Map.
- Toolbar: undo, delete (tap twice: first the route, then once more for the markers). Home: tap = home base, double-tap = a step closer, long-press = centre the home base and keep the zoom. My position (target): the same – tap = position, double-tap = closer, long-press = centre.
Panel and export
- Panel: tap an aircraft row for the breakdown, long-press to configure it. Tap the distance to change the unit.
- Export (top left): GPX, KML, Garmin (FPL) and – if switched on – ForeFlight. In a company, the admin can add company targets (e.g. PU App) at the top.
Settings, company and home-screen app
- Aircraft, home base and settings: gear button (Settings).
- Red dots: the company admin changed something. On the layer button = new layer (open the menu, expand the group). On an aircraft icon in the panel = new or changed aircraft – long-press shows what changed.
- Home-screen app: it has its own storage, separate from Safari. Easiest: in Safari Info → «Install as app» – your data comes along and the app asks for it on first start. Otherwise: Settings → Share, tick the content, copy the link and paste it in the app under «Received a link?».
Questions, wishes or a bug? In the app: Settings → Feedback. Or write to [email protected].
